NEWVILLE, Pa. – The Big Spring Bulldogs continued their dominant run on Monday, handing Waynesboro its fifth consecutive loss with a 23-5 victory.
The win marks the second time this season the Bulldogs (12-1) have overwhelmed the Maidens. Big Spring previously secured an 18-3 win during a March matchup. The Bulldogs’ offensive explosion on Monday also extended their impressive road winning streak to six games.
Despite the lopsided score, Waynesboro (3-10) found a bright spot in the performance of Lydia Shank. Shank finished the day 1-for-3, headlined by her first home run of the season.
Waynesboro will look to snap its skid on Wednesday when it hosts rival Northern York at 4:15 p.m. Big Spring aims to maintain its momentum as it travels to face Shippensburg at 4:15 p.m. the same day.
