Chambersburg’s girls lacrosse program is ascending to heights it has never seen before.
The Trojans had a big week, sweeping their competition to extend their winning streak to three games and jump to a Top 10 placement in the latest batch of District 3-3A power rankings. Chambersburg, at 8-4, has now won more games in a season than it ever has. Not to be outdone, the Trojan boys lacrosse squad improved to 8-5 last week.
On the baseball field, Greencastle-Antrim suffered its first loss of the season, but rebounded in a big way with a 4-0 win over Chambersburg, the top-ranked team in District 3-6A. Both the Blue Devils and Trojans sit on top of their respective divisions. Elsewhere on the baseball diamond, Smithsburg (10-5) and North Hagerstown (8-4) continue to churn out wins.
Greencastle’s softball team, the 2025 PIAA Class 5A runner-up, is heating up for another playoff run. The Blue Devils extended their winning streak to five games last week.
Bre McIlquham, a track performer for Waynesboro, won both the 200 (27.53) and 300 hurdles (47.96) at the Schuylkill Valley Panther Invitational, while also taking second in the 100 hurdles (15.89). The same invite saw McIlquham’s teammate, Devin Barger, win the boys 3,200 in 10:21.94.
Two Fairfield athletes, Noah Davis (200) and Julianna Estes (300 hurdles), won titles at the Adams County Classic, while the Smithsburg Spring Classic saw both North Hagerstown’s Anna Chamberlin (100 hurdles, high jump) and Lohgan Viar (800, 1,600) win multiple events.
Finally, at the Emerging Elite Invitational, North Hagerstown’s boys got wins from Isaiah Seering in the 100 (11.26) and Jonathan Morris in the 110 hurdles (15.81).
